SERCO-NA- Electronics Technician II

-          Provide E&I support to the 335^th Signal Command at Kandahar Air Field

-          Decommission/Recovery of Tech Control Facilities buildings and comm. equipment at closing FOBs as needed; to include: de-install of fuel tanks, generators and power cables, prep and removal of communication equipment shelters, breakdown of I-beam support structures, inventory of communication hardware, container packing of all equipment and prep for shipping.

-          Act as Temporary Site Lead during supervisors absence

-          Installed multiple 144 and 12 strand fibers, as well as 300pr and 25pr Copper for major project on KAF, and terminated in 20+ buildings

-          Troubleshooting and repair of faulty circuits as needed

-          Survey and pre-engineer material and installation requirements, to include manhole butterflies, duct inspection, cable and hardware requirements and timeframe estimations for upcoming communication installation projects

-          Familiar with operation of SkyTrak MMV and JCB 550 forklifts

ITT  Systems - ISP/OSP Cable Technician II

-          Deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan to Kandahar Air Base to support the Air Force 451^st AEW

-          Install OSP Infrastructure (trenching, conduit placement, hand-holes, etc.) throughout the base

-          Install, terminate, splice and test multi-strand OSP/ISP Backbone/Horizontal Fiber Optic  and copper cable and associated housings and equipment in/on Comm. room, MDF and ITN equipment racks, backboards and cabinets

-          Install, terminate and test ISP premise wiring

-          Utilize Fujikura splicers, Fluke cable analyzers, Anritsu OTDR

-          Install grounding (rods, wire, clamps) and tested to base specs.

-          Familiar with JCB 3CX/4CX and Terex backhoes, Ditch Witch trenchers, skid-steer (Bobcat and JCB) loaders, Int’l Cable reel truck

-          Acted as Interim Site Lead while site lead was out of AOR

ITT Corporation- Systems Division- Inside/Outside Cable Plant Technician II

-          Deployed to Doha, Qatar at Al Udeid Air Base to install, terminate and test the fiber and copper infrastructure of the new Combined Air Operations Center

-          Installed under floor cable tray, floor boxes and equipment cabinets through-out building

-          Performed optical fiber splicing of patch cables to horizontal fiber cables at floor boxes

-          Performed troubleshooting of cables post testing to correct any faults identified where needed

 

Jan 07 – Apr 08

BCS/Condor Technology – Project Manager, International Department

-          Deployed to  Balad, Iraq for 9 months to lead an Outside Plant fiber optic project

-          Ensure crew had the necessary materials in order to complete their tasks

-          Lead 2 crew supervisors and 11 technicians to ensure they perform duties safely

-          Submit material requests, prepare timesheets, disburse per diem, turn in daily reports to both our Bahrain office and to the prime contractor on site, as well as put together deliverable packages at the completion of milestones for the Army’s acceptance, and ensure that the installation is up to I3MP standards

-          Deployed to Camp Buehring, Kuwait to install DCME equipment in a new

Communications building and assisted start-up of a copper and fiber installation

MCS of Tampa, McConnell AFB KS – Telephone Mechanic

-          Scheduled and completed work orders to meet contact requirements

-          Placed and terminated Cat 5 voice and data cabling in buildings throughout the base, as well as the installation of termination blocks and patch panels

-          Troubleshot and corrected phone issues and outages

-          Interacted with TCOs and POCs--ensured projects were satisfactorily completed

MTS, Inc., McConnell AFB KS – Telephone Mechanic

-          Provided assistance to the Air Force Communications Squadron on large project updates

-          Replaced 300 telephones at base clinic and moved various agencies throughout the base to accommodate building remodels

-          Terminated, tested and connected LAN cabling and installed LAN equipment

-          Performed duties as Alternate Site Manager and Switch Tech

 

Mar 98 – Apr 2001

ProTel, Inc., - Nortel Switch Installation Specialist

-          Installed Nortel Central Office and Remote switch equipment; such as SL-100,  DMS -100, SNSEs, MCLMs, MCAMs, MCME’s and other peripheral equipment, including Access Nodes, power equipment, rectifiers, inverters, battery back-ups DSX panels and associated cabling requirements

-          Installations were in support of Y2K fiber upgrades and performed at a number of military bases throughout the United States, including Travis AFB, Vandenberg AFB, Fort Leonard Wood, Fort Sam Houston, Hunter Army Air Field, Laughlin AFB, and Yuma MCAS, as well as overseas in Okinawa (Kadena AFB), Qatar, Saudi Arabia and just over one year in Bahrain working at NSA Bahrain

-          While in Bahrain I was introduced to SL-100 programming and troubleshooting of phones and line cards

-          I am familiar with working with blueprints for the placement of equipment, installing cable trays, ladder rack and running DC wiring

-          Other duties have involved cable audits, cut-overs and premise wiring for voice and LAN applications
